NICHOLSON, Kenneth Joseph, Sr., age 91, of Rochester, died on December 29, 2021. Kenneth was born on October 29, 1930, in Chicago, IL, son of the late Kenneth W. and Ethel Nicholson. He grew up in Chicago and graduated from the Illinois Institute of Technology with a Bachelors Degree in Engineering. He worked for General Motors Aerospace group and then joined Ford Motor Co. where he was an engineer with the transmission and chassis group, then later with the axle group. He retired from Ford following 38 years of service. An avid outdoorsman, Kenneth enjoyed golfing and cross country skiing but sailing was his passion. He also enjoyed traveling and had a 2nd home in Cheboygan, MI for many years, before purchasing a winter home in Venice, Fl. On May 1, 1954 Kenneth married the love of his life, Rosemary Arrigo, who survives him. He is also survived by his children Susan (David) Stroud, Karen (Patrick) Shannon, and Kenneth (Judy) Nicholson, Jr.; grandchildren Don, Kristen, Keri, Mike, Kyler, Melena, Steven and Michelle; 12 great grandchildren, with one on the way. Kenneth was a wonderful husband, great father, and beloved grandfather, He will be greatly missed. Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 6, 2022, at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 1400 Inglewood Ave., Rochester. In state Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the church.
