Larry was part of a disappearing generation born during the Depression, lived through World War II, served in the Air Force during the Korean War, and worked virtually his entire adult life for General Motors in Labor Relations. He survived polio, skin cancer, a stroke, and three heart attacks and never lost his sense of humor.
Larry graduated from Eastern Michigan University where he was in the Arm of Honor fraternity, and spent several years teaching and coaching basketball in Willow Run. He graduated from the University of Michigan Law School, and was a long time season ticket holder to Wolverine football games. He read at least 10,000 books and completed as many crossword puzzles. Larry never sugarcoated things, but then you never had to wonder if he was telling the truth, and you always knew where you stood. He drove at three speeds: 30 in the parking lot, 60 on city roads, and 90 on the highway. And after his family and friends, the beings he loved most were his dogs.
Those wishing to pay their respects, share a story, or raise a glass in Larry’s memory are invited to join the family for an informal gathering on Saturday, December 12, from 2:30 to 5 pm. Please contact Larry’s son, Andy at (614) 937-2347 or (248) 375- 1456.
