

Leah Donnah Storto, age 87, of Royal Oak, formerly of Rochester, passed away on December 26, 2022. She was born on August 25, 1935 in Detroit, daughter of the late Hugh and Donnah (nee Tuthill) Martin. Dear Mother of Rob (Beverly Zimmerman) Haugh and the late Leslie Haugh, who passed away in 1998; Loving MeMe of Nathan Haugh, Brookes Guay, Aaron (Michelle) Guay, Brett Guay, Justin (Jenae) Haugh, Joseph Haugh, Amber Guay, and Jenny (Greg) Cates; Beloved Great Grandmother of Monica, Jacob, Gibson, Harper, Joslyn, Sage, Jemma, Jayden, and Jordyn. Sister of the late Paul Martin.
Leah was a graduate of Oakland University where she earned her Master’s Degree in Education. She served as a teacher for 30 years in the Clarkston Community School District, retiring from Bailey Lake Elementary School in 2001.
A member of the Royal Oak Post of the American Legion, she had been a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church as well as a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was also an enthusiastic and loyal supporter of numerous charitable organizations. One of her favorite past times was visiting the race track to enjoy the horses.
An artist by nature, she loved to paint and completed many beautiful works of art during her life. When she wasn’t painting, she could often be found at the piano creating beautiful music. She was also an avid fan of film, often going to the show with family and friends.
Leah inspired her family with artistic creativity, integrity, a strong will, and a fierce independence. She will be greatly missed.
Funeral Service will be held Friday, December 30, 2022, 11 am at the Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Drive, Rochester. Rev. Nevin Davidson officiating. Interment to follow at White Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday, December 29th, from 2 to 8 pm at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Michigan Humane Society.
