Lilian Siak was born to the late Tye, Hang Shan and Cheng, Oi Ching on the 18th day of the fourth month of the lunar calendar in Shanghai, China. She received a BA in Mathematics from Ohio Wesleyan in 1970 and a masters from The Ohio State University in 1972.
She married June-Sang (John) Siak in 1975. Lilian is survived by three children, Shirley Siak of Troy, Kara Siak of Columbus, Andrew Siak and Pam Wu of Troy and granddaughter, Sophia.
She rose in management at GM and EDS in the 80s and 90s. She was active in the Detroit charter of the American Chinese Association, with her last project being the development of the Chinese Community Center in Madison Heights, MI.
Lilian’s true passion was traveling the world with her husband, family, and friends. She traveled to the pyramids of Egypt, the Zen Gardens of Kyoto and the African safari. She enjoyed dancing at Carnival in Rio de Janiero, cruise to Antartica, glamping in the African safari, tours through Southeast Asia, Western Europe, Russia, Turkey, the list goes on. Her most cherished trips were to NingBo with her late mother and relatives to visit their home village.
Lilian's family will welcome everyone to a visitation from 1p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 4 p.m. on Wednesday April 13, 2022, at Pixley Funeral Home, located at 322 W. University Dr. in downtown Rochester, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to American Chinese Association, Detroit Chapter.
