Lillian Ruth Smith

Lillian was the wife of the late Doyle Smith for 63 years; beloved mother of Sandra Rhames and Gwen Smith; grandmother of Stephanie (Patrick) Siems and Francis Rhames; great-grandmother of Alexsandra Siems, Nicholas Siems, Maxwell Rhames and Claire Rhames; and sister of Helen Dugwyler and Gloria Woods. Lillian was predeceased by her husband Doyle Smith; parents Arthur and Myra Ramsey (Clark); and seven brothers Hershel, Clifford, Thomas, Icel, Cecil, Charles, and David Ramsey.

Lillian was born in Elvins, Missouri on November 22, 1927. She married Doyle Smith in 1945. She and Doyle raised their family in Pontiac, Michigan.

Lillian loved to sing at Calvary Baptist Church in Waterford where she also taught Sunday school for many years. She continued singing as part of a prison and nursing home ministry in Peoria, Arizona where she and Doyle retired to.

Lillian’s family will welcome all to a visitation on Monday July 15th from 10am until the time of funeral service at 11am at Pixley Funeral Home, located at 322 W. University Drive in downtown Rochester, Michigan.

Memorial contributions may be made in Lillians’s honor to the Angel’s Place, 29299 Franklin Rd, Southfield, Michigan 48034. Envelopes will be available at Pixley Funeral Home.
