Linda Marelle (Terry) Kaleniecki, age 64, of Addison Township passed away Tuesday August 31, 2021 at Lehigh Acres Regional Medical Center in Florida. Linda was born on September 5, 1956 in Detroit, Michigan. She grew up with a strong bond with her sisters, Regina leading. Linda graduated as salutatorian from Chadsey High School in Detroit, class of 1974. She married her high school sweetheart James Kaleniecki on September 6, 1980 at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Detroit. Linda and Jim raised their family first in Grosse Pointe, then Rochester Hills, and finally Addison Township since 1996. Linda put her family first. She drove a horse trailer around three times a week so the girls could ride horses. She traveled to Vancouver Canada and Moscow for her son’s hockey team.
Linda learned many skills throughout her life. She was beautician first and then began preparing income taxes. She then went to the university and earned both her teaching and psychology degrees, putting both degrees to work helping people.
Linda is survived by her husband James of 40 years; children Amy (Jesse) Gill, Amber (Darren) Schmolke, and Jeremy (Amanda) Kaleniecki; grandchildren Luke and Eli Schmolke; and Sawyer and Kallen Gill; silbings Regina ( Warren ) Neumann, Anna Layne, Patricia ( Ricky ) Miller, Virginia (Russelle) Kovl, Tina (Dennis) Taylor, Barbara Nabozny. Predeceased by her parents Donald and Bertha (Howard) Terry; siblings David and Donald “Tommy” Terry.
Linda’s family will welcome all to a visitation on Thursday September 9th, 2021 from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Friday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. at Pixley Funeral Home, located at 322 West University Drive in downtown Rochester, Michigan. Interment will follow at Guardian Angel Cemetery. Memorial contribution may be made in Linda’s honor to the Michigan Humane Society online at www.michiganhumane.org or at Pixley Funeral Home.
