We remember Lindsay's wonderful music-making during our time worshipping with Lutheran Church of the Incarnate Word. She will be missed and our prayers go out to you during this difficult time. May you receive the comfort of Christ, who overcame death for Lindsay and all who believe.

A few days after Lindsay arrived at the nursing home, she looked out the window and said, "It's sad that I can't go outside." I asked Lindsay's nurse how to get her out. Her nurse changed her oxygen to a portable tank and off we went. I smiled and said, "Hey, Lindsay, we're breaking out of this joint and going outside!" Our journey began with laughter and song down the hall and into the elevator, with Lindsay singing and bouncing to "Jailhouse Rock."
Once outside by the tree line-which beautifully resembled Lindsay's own backyard-three wild deer quietly walked out from the woods. After a short while, as the deer walked away, a large yellow and red maple leaf drifted slowly toward Lindsay. As she caught the leaf and held it to her chest, she spontaneously broke into song, singing "Autumn Leaves." Stepping back inside, Lindsay exclaimed excitedly, "Hey, is that a piano over there?" Full of energy, she took off toward the family room. The first song Lindsay played and sang was "Autumn Leaves."
As residents and staff gathered to listen to Lindsay play the piano, this consummate show-woman raised her hands snapping her fingers to lead the room singing "The Addams Family" theme, "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown," and several other classic rock numbers. By this time, Lindsay had captured an audience of about 50 people. Of course, Lindsay proudly played her full syllabus of patriotic songs, including the anthems of the individual military branches. Hearing those chords, many men and women in the room who had served gave a proud salute to their respective branch anthems.
Throughout her impromptu concert, Lindsay masterfully intertwined "Autumn Leaves" many times, smiling and exclaiming, "Autumn Leaves somehow is always coming up!" She played her final performance with passion for about 30 minutes concluding with several Christmas numbers and "Silent Night." Lindsay received roaring applause from her audience, offering her last humble bow with bright smiles, and joyous high-fives.

I am so sorry to hear of Lindsay’s passing. I was a member of the church choir when she was the accompanist. She was an excellent musician & easy to work with.
I moved away from the area 3 years ago & am sad to hear this news.

My deepest sympathy for the family.
May God comfort all the loved ones.

We had the best neighbors on Gunder, or Golden Lane, as we would call it, since all our four houses were happy homes for Goldens.
Another great memory was how Lindsay let our son use her circle drive as a race track with his bike. He asked her if he could ride on it and she was always very welcoming and enjoyed him driving past. I would always hear her say, “Hey Dom!”. He will always remember her for that, and so will we. She was an amazing soul and will be missed. RIP Lindsay🙏🏼❤️.

Here is a photo of Lindsay after a Tigers game when her, Grey & I were in a suite right next to the Comerica Park PA announcer! One of the many fun memories of Lindsay! R.I.P good friend!
