Lloyd "Gene" Eugene Browning

Gene, 91, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2021.

He was born in Terre Haute, Indiana on December 30, 1929 and raised in Detroit, Michigan. Gene enlisted in the US Army in December 1946, and served honorably through June 1948. He earned a BS from the University of Detroit and an MBA from Wayne State University utilizing the GI Bill. Gene met his wife, Patricia at U of D. They were married in 1955 and raised 8 children together. Their huge family lives across the United States. Their adult children are Daniel (Sandra), Catherine (Richard), Julie (August), Laura (Daniel), Mary (Matthew), Patrick (Alison), Michael (Susan) and Sheila (Jean Gabriel). They have 20 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Christmas celebrations were always a wonderful time for the whole family to gather at their house. During their 65 years of marriage Gene and Pat owned homes in St. Claire Shores, Grosse Pointe Woods, Sturgis, Traverse City and Grand Rapids, MI. Gene had a long and successful career in the automotive industry and the technology sector. Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd P. Browning and Loretta H. Browning and one sister, Barbara Ann Williams. A memorial will be held for family and friends this summer, 2021. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.pixleyfh.com.
