Born on December 16, 1942, Lois lived a life grounded in her faith in God. Her beliefs were an enduring source of strength throughout her life, and she found comfort in Scripture, especially John 3:16 and the Twenty-Third Psalm.
Lois especially loved the life she built with her husband, John, at their farm near Rhinelander, Wisconsin. Their old log cabin became a place filled with treasured memories and the quiet beauty of the Northwoods she loved so dearly.
An avid gardener, Lois took great pride in her flowers, especially her dahlias and roses. Knowing how precious the short Northwoods growing season could be, she carefully planted many of them in large containers so they could be moved with the changing weather—carried to the shelter of the screened porch when frost threatened and returned outdoors to soak up the warmth of summer. Every spring and fall, she faithfully moved them indoors and back outside again, determined to give them every chance to flourish despite the challenges of a northern Wisconsin climate. She also shared a special bond with her beloved dogs, whose companionship brought her great joy over the years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Iva Kuhn; her sister, Dorothy; her beloved husband, John Tangas; her daughter-in-law, Heidi; and her grandson, Cody.
She is survived by her children, Raymond LaHaie, Lynette Sanday, and Roxanne Imrick; eleven grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; extended family members; and friends who will remember her in their own special ways.
Those who knew Lois will remember her deep faith, her love of the Northwoods, the beauty she cultivated in her gardens, and the happiness she found in the companionship of her beloved dogs. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and all who knew her. May she rest in the peace and presence of her Savior.
"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." — John 3:16
