Lorin and her parents are beloved friends of Adrian College. As a professor at the college for over thirty years I have been privileged to work with Lorin and her father, Ike, and I am very saddened by this news. My heart goes out to all who are feeling this loss.

I am thinking of you all in this trying time, and remembering Lorin. Thinking back to high school - I remember how she had a way of getting right to what was important. Sharp and sweet!
May her memory be for a blessing.

I had the opportunity to meet Lorin just once this past July, but in that short time it was clear what an impact she must have made on the lives of those people she worked with. I am saddened at her passing, and my heart grieves for her family and friends. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Lorin was one of the most genuine people I've ever had the pleasure and privilege to know. The world seems somehow deflated with her loss. Rest in Peace, Lorin

"We mourn the loss of one of our own. We hold dear to our heart the memories and laughter we shared together. Dr. Sheppard taught from the heart. She made you believe that you were important and gave you the confidence everyday to believe in yourself. While we mourn the loss of a great professor, we feel blessed and honored that she was a part of our life. Our prayers and thought goes out to her family, friends, colleagues and students" Adieu Dr. Sheppard

Lorin was a great friend to our daughter,Anne and our daughter-in-law, Nicole. She has been so much a part of various family related events that I will look for her when we gather. She had a beautiful smile,a wonderful laugh and a very kind heart. I am so sorry that she lost hope for being free of her pain. Care for yourselves and each other.

Having you as my mentor for three years was an honor. You gave me your attention to the fullest, and the best advise to think outside the box with my career planning. When I had issues in my academics you provided me with best ways to assist me through it. When I was sick, you were there as well. I am still lost of words. This is such a hurtful feeling. Your kindness, and dedication towards students at MUCOP will forever be remembered. To my Mentor and friend, May your soul rest in perfect peace, Amen.

I still expect to see Dr. Sheppard walking around the hallways with her coffee mug and a steady smile on her face. Her presence was warm and welcoming. Her thoughtful encouragements and genuinity will forever be remembered.

It is with great sadness that I bid a good friend goodbye. Lorin was a wonderful person who brought a little light into my world. I hate to picture that world without her.
