Lynne Robert Gregory

Lynne Robert Gregory, a beloved resident of Oakland Township, Michigan, passed away on February 11, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on July 3, 1942, Lynne lived a full and vibrant life, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication to family, education, and community.

A proud graduate of Lincoln High School in Warren, MI, Lynne furthered his education at Macomb Community College, Central Michigan University, Michigan State University, and Wayne State University. His passion for learning and teaching was evident throughout his 33-year career as a teacher in the Utica Community Schools. Lynne also shared his knowledge and faith by teaching Sunday School at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church.

Lynne was married to his loving wife, Penny, for 57 wonderful years. He is survived by Penny; his daughters, Lisa (Jeff) DeGrieck and Colleen (Adam) Nollen; his son, Michael (Lauren) Gregory; and his cherished grandchildren, Ben, Alex, Ava, Jacob, and James. Lynne is also survived by his sisters, Kathy (Bob) Stewart and Beth (Charles "Chip") Gibson; brother-in-law, Rick Hughes; sister-in-law, Maxine (Gene) Webster; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Janice Hughes and Judy Dornbrock.

Lynne had a deep love for music, especially the Rolling Stones and smooth jazz, and enjoyed singing with the Troy Community Chorus. He found joy in nature, from watching sunrises and sunsets to skipping stones and walking on beaches. Grand Bend, Ontario, held a special place in his heart, as did spending Christmas Eve with family and friends, making Christmas cookies, and driving to Florida. Lynne was an avid sports fan, particularly of football (especially the Spartans) and basketball. Lynne had a great love for dogs, with a special place in his heart for his grand dogs Duncan, Rylee, Ricky, Lucy and Izzy.

He took immense pride in his children's accomplishments and cherished watching his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews grow and make their mark in the world.

A Memorial Visitation will be held at Pixley Funeral Home, located at 322 W. University Dr., Rochester, Michigan, 48307, on February 20, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm with Celebration of Life following at 6:00 pm.
