

Vibbert, Margaret R. (Emery) Age 91 of Rochester Hills, MI died at Sanctuary at Bellbrook in Rochester Hills, Michigan on June 18, 2013. Preceded in death by her husband Robert A. Vibbert and granddaughter Stephanie Vibbert. Survived by her sons Robert A. Vibbert, II and William E. Vibbert, daughter Margaret A. Ogden and grandchildren Brent Vibbert , Elizabeth Vibbert and Jessica Ogden and great-grandchild Elliot Vibbert. Margaret was born and raised in South Lyon, Michigan, where she was her High School Valedictorian. In 1941 she was the last Romeo Peach Festival Queen until after WWII. During her reign as Queen she was able to learn to fly and earn her Wings in a Piper Cub. She went on to Major in Music at the University of Michigan. During this time she also learned how to repair vehicles doing her part in the War effort. Years later she earned her Teaching Certificate that enabled her to teach in Public schools and eventually at the Montessori School in Birmingham. She was Mother to Ragnar Carstam, an AFS Swedish Foreign Exchange Student, sang in the Choir at the Congregational Church in Birmingham prior to moving to Sun City Center, Florida where for 25 years she enjoyed choir directing, classical music, playing the piano, teaching migrant school children, and being an environmental activist. Due to her character, kindness, and always managing to care for others around her, she made friends wherever she went, no matter her own condition. A Private memorial service will be held at Waltonwood at University on 3250 Walton Blvd, Rochester Hills on Thursday, July 11, 2013.
