Mark Lee McKaig, a hard-working and kind-hearted soul, passed away on December 28, 2025, at the age of 60. Born in Pontiac, Michigan, on August 28, 1965, Mark spent his formative years in Sterling Heights, where he attended Stevenson High School.
Mark dedicated his professional life to working as a Heavy Equipment Operator for Bedient Construction and Lazant Construction, a testament to his diligent nature.
Throughout his life, Mark found joy in a variety of hobbies. A longtime bowler, he played on local and weekend leagues, and his love for sports extended back to his high school years, where he played basketball. Mark also cherished his time snowmobiling, hunting, and fishing, and had recently rekindled his interest in golf.
Mark is survived by his loving mother, Shirley E. McKaig, and his sons, Charles A. McKaig (Jessica) and Ryan M. McKaig. He leaves behind his cherished grandsons, Gavin L. McKaig and Cody A. McKaig. His cousin, Tony Williams, and many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews will also remember him fondly. Mark's friend and ex-wife, Dawn, holds a special place in his story.
Visitation will be held at Pixley Funeral Home, located at 322 West University Drive, Rochester, MI 48307, on January 10, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The funeral service will follow at the same location from 6:00 pm to 6:45 pm.
