Martin was born the son of Joseph and Emilia (Rollheiser) Lauer in Graytown, Ohio on July 12th, 1939. He graduated from Elmore High School, class of 1957, and earned his bachelor degree. Martin served in the US Army. He went on to earn his Juris Doctorate at Ohio State University. Martin married Carol Thompson on December 18th, 1965, at St. Christopher Catholic Church in Columbus, Ohio. Martin had a successful career with the F.B.I. in New Orleans, Los Angeles, Washington D.C., and Detroit. He was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Rochester.
Martin loved God and loved his family. He and Carol enjoyed traveling the world together. Martin especially loved Ireland.
Martin is survived by his loving wife Carol Lauer; Martin was predeceased by his parents; step-father Kenny Laymer; and brothers Gerald and Jacob Lauer.
A private service will be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.
