Marv was a kind, generous, and loveable man with a creative spirit, a great sense of humor, and a heart for helping others. He spent more than 40 years with General Motors, where he was known for his loyalty and hard work.
He loved cars, boats, gardening, tinkering in his garage, and spending time outdoors. He treasured his friendships, especially breakfasts with his buddies and trips to the shooting range. Creative and stylish, Marv had an appreciation for things well made—and was always recognizable by his striking blue eyes. His stubborn streak and lead foot provided plenty of stories and laughter over the years.
Above all, Marv loved his family and was especially proud of his children. He showed his love by being there, making people laugh, lending a hand, and always being someone others could count on. He taught his children to work hard, love their families, help others, and enjoy the simple pleasures of life.
Marv was preceded in death by his parents, Beatrice and Norman Bartle, and his brothers, Norman, Don, and Ron.
Survived by wife Marilyn; children Jeff, Judy, and Jeanette; Delphine, mother of his children; stepdaughters Amy and Adrian; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Marv will be deeply missed and remembered for his generosity, creativity, loyalty, humor, and the love and care he gave so freely. Most of all, he will be remembered as a loving father and a truly loved man.
Visitation will be held Saturday, August 29, 2026 from 1:00pm until 5:00pm and Sunday, August 30, 2026 from 11:00am until the time of the Funeral Service at 12:00pm at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Drive, Rochester.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites those wishing to honor Marv's memory to make a donation to the American Heart Association or Plant a Tree at alivingtribute.org.
