Mary Helen Hastilow, 93, died October 4, 2026. Born July 13, 1933, in Columbus, Ohio, Mary made her home in Rochester Hills, Michigan, where she was known for the steady, caring presence she brought to the lives around her.
Mary’s days were shaped by devotion to home and family, she was a homemaker, and she also lent her time and hands to her family’s businesses. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Mary bowled at North Hill Bowling Alley and played on a league there. She also enjoyed golfing when she had the time. In later seasons, she and her husband wintered in Florida at their condo, escaping the cold Michigan weather. Closer to home, she gave her time at Resale Connection in Rochester, offering her help with the same unassuming generosity that marked so much of her life. She also enjoyed comradery and excitement as a member of the Theater Guild.
Mary is survived by her children: Kathy Leet, Bradford (Sally) Hastilow, Michele (Glen) Rohn, and Suzanne Wilson. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Shoshanah Abraham, Sharonah (Chris) McKenna, Brandon (Chrissy) Hastilow, Brett (Amanda) Hastilow , Daniel (Elena) Rohn, Alixann Sparger, James Medinis, and Kyle Medinis; and by her great-grandchildren, Madison Hastilow, Aubrey Hastilow, Elise Sparger, Gavin Sparger, Justin Sparger, Addisyn Rohn, Liam Rohn, Noah Rohn, and Eva Ardron.
