I worked at Hart with your mother toward the end of her career. I just loved her warm smile and dry sense of humor. She always had a great book to recommend and I mean a diverse selection . She was a real reader in my eyes and I admired her insights and reviews of the novels she suggested. She was one of the original “Old Gaurd” chosen teachers at Hart and they were quite the group. They set tone, professional, creative, open hearted, child centered, smart and fun loving. She will be missed.

Mrs Lutz was a beloved teacher of mine ( and of so many of us ) at McGregor Elementary School, 5th grade. She provided an inspired and emotionally safe classroom environment that fostered a love of reading, learning, creativity and regard for one another. Her caring ways, bright eyes, beautiful smile and laugh will be remembered fondly and missed deeply. She made an impression and influenced so many young lives for the better during the course of her career and I am but one of those students. (Class of 77 RHS)
I ran into Mrs. Lutz one day in May in my late 30's at Wiegand's Greenhouse-one of my heaven on earth places-a garden shop...the sun was shining and there she was! I asked her what she had been up to and one of the things she recounted to me is that she was still tutoring students in math. Long story short...I became her student again, and she tutored me in math and Algebra skills that I felt I needed refreshing in as an adult... she was as kind, patient and inspirational as ever and I will continue to cherish my memories of her....🦋❤🦋 May you Rest in Peace Mrs. Lutz, Heaven has surely gained an Angel there in you~

Mrs. Lutz, you were my favorite teacher at McGregor. You encouraged a love of reading in us that I remember to this day when you read aloud to us chapter books that were beyond our level. Your kind approach to learning was such a blessing to all of us. RIP and know you had a huge impact on the lives of so many children. Thank you. Kathy Hatter Fehling
