TAYLOR, Mary “Martha”, 82, of Rochester Hills, passed away May 24, 2017. She was born in Newland, NC on July 14, 1934. Martha graduated from Happy Valley High School in Johnson City, TN. She was married to Jack Taylor on September 8, 1954. Martha was employed by Rochester Community Schools for 30 years. She enjoyed gardening and birdwatching in her free time. Mother of Peggy (Javier Ramirez) Brock and the late Lewis Taylor and his wife Valerie; grandmother of Stephanie Taylor and sister of Lou (Butch) Calloway, Stanley (Mosella) Whittington and Charles (Frances) Whittington. Visitation 3 – 8 p.m. Friday, May 26, 2017 at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W University Dr., in downtown Rochester. Funeral Service 11 a.m. Saturday, May 27, 2017 at the funeral home; the family will receive guests from 10 a.m. until the service begins.
