Mason Patrick Wood

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mason Patrick Wood, beloved son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend, who tragically lost his life in an accident at work on June 13, 2026. Born on March 14, 2002, Mason brought light and laughter to every moment of his 24 years.

Mason was a vibrant spirit who loved the thrill of life in the great outdoors. His passions for trucks, guns, hunting, fishing, and shooting pool captured the essence of his adventurous nature. He found joy in getting dirty, embracing the messiness of life with a smile that lit up his surroundings. Proudly blue-collar, he approached every task with dedication, whether he was maintaining vehicles, emergency generators, doing landscaping, or helping out at local stores.

A graduate of Rochester High School in 2020, Mason was a spirited young man who engaged in various activities throughout his youth. From completing Cub Scouts to playing and umpiring Little League games, and playing football in junior high and high school, he exemplified loyalty and camaraderie on and off the field. His love for life and humor delighted all who knew him, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts.

Mason is survived by his father, Patrick; his mother, Jackie; his younger brothers, Sean and Jacob Wood; Aunts and Uncles: Sean & Sharon Magee, Scott & Mindee Wood, Rob & Margaret Hanson, David & Elsie Patch; and their families along with many close friends who considered him family, just as he considered them. He will also be missed dearly by his beloved pets, Orange the catdog and Cash “Doo” the dog. Mason had a big heart, and despite the heartaches he faced, he held onto his dreams of one day having a wife and children—a testament to his kind and caring nature.

Though his time with us was cut tragically short, Mason's spirit will continue to shine through the memories he created. His genuine respect for others, his helpfulness, and his refusal to conform to others' expectations will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. Mason was loved deeply, and his legacy will be cherished by family and friends alike.

In honor of Mason’s vibrant life, a celebration of his spirit will be held at Noon, 12 PM, Monday, June 22, 2026 at St. Mary of the Hills, 2675 John R. Road, Rochester Hills, MI 48307.

There will be a celebration of life following at the DAV 129 / “Red Barn” 47326 Dequindre Road, Shelby Township, MI 48317 from 1:00 P.M. - 6 P.M.

Friends and family are invited to share stories, laughter, and love as we remember an extraordinary young man who truly embraced life.

Though he may no longer walk among us, Mason Patrick Wood will forever remain in our hearts and in our souls.
