Matthew was pre-deceased by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Freeman Hickey and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Laverty, and leaves behind to cherish his memory, his parents, many aunts, uncles and cousins and a host of friends from around the world. His care-giving friends are angels......Lonnie, David, Robert, Jo, Francine, Ralph, Jack, Julie, Sun, Libby, Joop, Lek, Nicky, Mon and Oud. What would we ever have done without your love and support for our dear son! God bless.
Matthew loved to travel, sometimes at high risk, most notably when he visited Russia, then known as the USSR. Most fondly, he loved Thailand where he has resided for the last seven years following his retirement from his work in sales and management which brought him many honors for excellence.
His interest in music and art never waned, and he was forever redecorating, His most challenging project was his houseboat. Innovative, creative, and fun-loving describe Matthew best.
