Michael Jason Hicks

Michael was born the son of John and Virginia  Floury Hicks in Pontiac, Michigan, on September 24, 1942. Michael graduated from Pontiac Northern High School, Class of 1960. He earned a four year apprenticeship in tool making with Pontiac Motor Division and worked his entire career in the automotive manufacturing industry. Michael was a member of the Corvette Club and enjoyed meeting up with car club friends for breakfast. He was an avid enthusiast of car racing and never missed watching a race. In younger years, Michael played tennis. But most of all, Michael loved traveling with his wife Laura to Hawaii, Alaska, and going on cruises with her.

Michael  was predeceased by his wife Laura L. Hicks and Daughter-in-law Michelle Sugg; he is survived by his children Jeffrey Sugg of Rochester Hills, Michigan, John (Joyce) Sugg of Ferndale, Michigan, Lisa (Ken) Olson of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Allyson Sutherland of Ann Arbor, Michigan, and Kristi (Shawn) Peralta of Clarkston, Michigan; grandchildren Jennifer Sugg, Bronwyn (Hunter) Critchfield, Robert (Sherri) Pray, Garrett Sugg, Elisabeth Olson, Emily Olson, Wyatt Sutherland, Chris (Lindsey) Peralta, Lauren Peralta, and Wade Bonnici; great-grandchildren Millicent Critchfield, Emily Pray, Alaina Pray.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2026, from 3pm until the time of the funeral service at 5pm at Pixley Funeral Home, located at 322 West University Drive in downtown Rochester, Michigan.
