

KOGER, Nancy Jane, age 72, of Rochester Hills, MI, died Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at Crittenton Hospital after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born September 10, 1939, in Warrensburg, IL, to the late Herman and Zada Nottelmann. She attended Millikin University and in 1958 she was Miss Decatur, IL in the Miss America Pageant. She enjoyed golf, tennis, music, reading, conversation, vacationing in Panama City, FL and trips back to Decatur to visit friends and classmates from high school and college. She loved shopping and spending time with her five grandchildren that she loved so much. She also was the Republican Precinct Delegate for Rochester Hills. She was the beloved wife of Joe M. Koger, whom she married March 5, 1960. Treasured mother of Joe (Dawn) Koger, II of Birmingham, MI and Kerry Koger of Ortonville, MI. Devoted grandmother to Makenna, Jaret, Hadley, Claire and Brent. Sister of Janet (Eric) Stottrup and the late Richard (Hazel) Nottelmann. Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Sunday at PIXLEY FUNERAL HOME, 322 W. University Drive in Rochester, MI 48307. The family will receive friends on Sunday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Burial will take place on Monday in VanHoosen Jones – Stoney Creek Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Nancy’s name may be directed to the Doug Blanchard Memorial Foundation which sponsors “Ashley’s Friends”, a grief support group for children 5-18 years of age who have lost a loved one. Nancy was a loving, sweet, kind-hearted Christian woman whose wonderful personality, charm and warm smile had an infectious and positive impact on all who knew her.
