She was born on June 6, 1947, in Abington, Pennsylvania, to Edward Frederick and Virginia (Harding) Hollman. Pat met her husband, Walter "Terry" Smith, while working at Vick Manufacturing, and he remained the love of her life. Above all, she loved God and her church, and for more than 25 years she was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Rochester. She gave generously of her time and money to missions and her church family. She taught Sunday school for many years and led the Awana Sparks and Cubbies programs at two churches, shaping the faith of countless young children.
In her late 40s, Pat found a career she dearly loved as New Business Coordinator at Financial Architects, where she assisted the financial advisors with scheduling and filing and made sure everything happened when it was supposed to. She ran the office like a drill sergeant, and they loved her for it. She even started a Bible study at work, and she continued working into her seventies.
Pat was happiest outdoors, walking or working in her gardens. She took great pride in her flowers, especially her impatiens, which often grew knee high or taller. Her children learned early that watering them by hand every day was part of growing up. She adored her grandchildren and made every effort to be at their sports and school events. Her motto: "Nana is my name, spoiling is my game."
She is survived by her husband, Walter "Terry" Smith; her daughter, Susan Boeve; her sons, Brian Smith and Kevin (Renae) Smith; her grandsons London, Ezra, Henry, and Noah Smith, and Kyle, Aidan, and Tyler Boeve; and her great-grandson, Abel Boeve. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Linda Lea Hollman, and her brother, Ronald Edward Hollman.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 16, 2026 at First Baptist Church of Rochester, 6377 Orion Road, Rochester Hills, MI 48306 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will take place immediately following at White Chapel Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Rochester or Gideons International.
