

Philip L. Gough, age 90, passed away on October 24, 2022. He was the devoted and loving husband to Katherine for 35 years; loving father to Deborah L. Kwapis and Kristine L. Wallace; grandfather of 4 and great grandfather of 3. Phil is survived by his sister Sue (Bob) Miller as well as many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brothers Bill and Harry Gough.
Phil served in the United States Navy during the Korean War (1952-1956) as a second class petty officer on the USS Piedmont. He worked for General Motors for 31 years as a metal model maker in the skilled trades for prototype design. Phil was an ardent supporter of the UAW.
He loved cooking, bird watching, mountain hiking and camping, researching genealogy, and helping others with their genealogy projects at the local library. Phil traveled to many places and countries both in the Navy and with his wife.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the National Audubon Society, Cornell Lab of Ornithology, the American Lung Association, or American Diabetes Association.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 30th, from 3 PM to 7 PM at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Dr. Rochester, MI 48307, with a service being held at 5 PM that day.
