Rea Marie Cetnar, age 87, of Oakland Twp., passed Friday, March 10, 2023. She is survived by her children Charles (Laura) Cetnar and Ann (Greg) Mickens; daughter-in-law Sue Cetnar; grandchildren Christopher (Julie), Beth (Dave), Brent (Alyssa), Brian, Kara, Quinn and Taylor; Great grandchildren Griffin, Jensen, Riker, James, and Avery; Sister Rita Brombach. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles “Chuck” Cetnar, and a dear son, Eric Cetnar. Rea was born on June 19, 1935 in Detroit, daughter of the late Pasquale and Antoinette (nee Colasanti) DelGreco. Following graduation from St. David High School in Detroit, she married Charles Cetnar on May 5, 1956. They enjoyed 62 years of marriage until “Chuck” passed away in 2018. She enjoyed traveling with Chuck and her family, as well as flower gardening, reading and collecting jewelry. Rea had belonged to many bowling leagues over the years, and she always enjoyed spending time with “The Club” from St. David’s. A very gifted artist, she most enjoyed drawing. For the past 4 years she resided at Blossom Ridge. Rea was a sweet, loving, kind and generous wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 21, from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Drive in Rochester. A Vigil service will begin at 7 p.m. The funeral mass will be held Wednesday, March 22, 11 a.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 1400 Inglewood, Rochester. Monsignor Michael Hrydziuszko, celebrant. Rea will lie in state at 10:30 a.m. Inurnment at Resurrection Cemetery. If desired, memorials may be made to Compassus Hospice. www. compassuslivingfoundation.org
