Richard served honorably in the Air Force, a testament to his dedication and service to his country. After his military service, he worked as a lineman for Michigan Bell, now known as AT&T, where he built a respected career.
Richard was a man of many interests and passions. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, exploring the vast landscapes of America, and venturing internationally. Cruises were a particular delight, offering him the chance to see the world from a unique perspective. Above all, Richard cherished spending time with his family.
Richard is survived by his son, David Bureau, and his close niece, Pamela Stramel. He is also survived by his siblings, Dennis Kish and Christine Leach, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kayoko Kish, and siblings Fred, Sara, James, Donald, Larry, Emrey, Betty, and Jean.
Richard's life was marked by service, adventure, and a deep love for his family. He will be remembered with respect and affection by all who knew him.
A memorial visitation will be held on January 9, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Pixley Funeral Home, located at 322 W. University Dr., Rochester, Michigan, 48307. A memorial service will follow at 4:00 pm at the same location.
