Robert Beecher Setzer, age 80, of Rochester Hills, Michigan passed away on his 80th birthday on Friday, October 25, 2024. Robert was a well respected Marine Biologist. Having earned a Doctorate degree, he worked for Rockwell Automation before becoming a Professor at UCLA.
After moving to Michigan, he joined EDS before taking his well deserved retirement. Robert enjoyed spending time outdoors keeping his eyes out for another rock, fossil, or coral to add to his collection. He participated in many Bass fishing tournaments, enjoying both the competition and the sport. One of his greatest passions in life was Birdwatching; he ran a successful blog where he posted photos of his successes. When he wasn't able to be outside, he liked to go to the OPC and make custom jewelry.
He is survived by his beloved wife Judy Ann Setzer; son Rob Lucas Setzer (Shelle); step child William Cole (Sherry); special friend Linda Orm (Amber); grandchildren Dorotheanna (Michael), Elissa, Danielle, Mathew, and Samantha; great grandchildren Datton and August.
