Born on October 18, 1937, in Detroit, Ron graduated from Waterford Township High School and went on to work as an electrician for General Motors until retirement. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus and was known for his love of the outdoors. He enjoyed activities such as hunting, camping, golfing, and boating on Lake Margrethe. Wherever he went, people were drawn to his friendly, easy-going manner.
Ron is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Cynthia, his father, Sam Herron, mother, Iva Herron, sisters, Iva Herron (Carroll) and Margaret Herron, brother Jerry Herron, son, Michael Herron, and grandson, Chad Verrier.
He is survived by his children, Don (Ann) Herron, Jeanne (John) Waddell, John (Shelley) Herron, Janet (Jeff) Swan, and Joe (Andrea) Herron; daughter-in-law, Kathy Herron; his stepchildren, Gary (Kimberly) Verrier, Don (Denise) Verrier, Connie (Guy) Adamski, Jacquelyn (Nick) Verticchio, and Greg (Elsa) Verrier.
He is survived by his grandchildren, Kyle (Sarah), Lindsey-Marie (Jacob), Trevor (Bri), Taylor, Alana, Tyler (Jessica), Domenic, Diane (Peter), Destin, Nolan, Addison, Bella, Matt, Brad, Nick, Jessica, Danny, Mark, Jack, Sam, Ben, Jordan, Jaclynn, Nathan (Nicole), Cliff (Jen), Michael (Jackie), Mitch, Max, Morgan, Jared, Adam, and Andrew.
He is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren Tiegan, Layla, Lennox, Jett, Willow, Ford, Franklin, Logan, Van, Elijah, Isaac, Jackson, Gryffin, Victoria, Granger, Gunnar, Kinley, and Aurora.
A funeral mass will be held Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 10:30 a.m.:
