

Roxanne was born on August 20, 1953, to her loving parents, Joseph and Marilyn Freedman. She pursued her passion for understanding and helping others by earning her Doctorate in Psychology from the University of Michigan. Throughout her career, she was known for her compassion, intelligence, and dedication to those she served.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Roxanne embraced life with enthusiasm and grace. She was a gifted pianist who found great joy in playing music, especially jazz. She cherished time spent on the water aboard her boat, loved the companionship of her beloved cats, and found strength and fellowship through her faith as a devoted member of St. Benedict Catholic Church in Waterford Township.
Roxanne shared more than 40 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, the late Louis Petro.
She was a devoted stepmother to Andrew (Ramona) Petro, Tim (Patty) Petro, and the late Steven (Gina) Petro. She was a proud step-grandmother to Joshua (Danielle), Luke (Danielle), Samuel (Amanda), Levi (HopeEllen), Julia (Taryk) Talburt, Faith, Kirsten (Brian) Burk, Corey, Steven Jr., Cameron, Derek (Tiffany), James (Devan), and John (Ariela). She was also blessed to be the great-grandmother of 21 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy.
A Memorial Service celebrating Roxanne's life will be held at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 80 S. Lynn Street, Waterford Township, Michigan 48328, on Thursday, July 23, 2026 at 10:30 AM. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor and celebrate her life.
