Ruth O. Collins

Ruth O. Collins (nee Erickson), age 97, of Rochester Hills, passed away December 22, 2016. She was born in Detroit on July 11, 1919. Ruth married John Collins on January 1, 1940. She was a homemaker and a secretary for Chrysler for many years.

Ruth was an active member of First Baptist Church of Rochester. She had a passion for bible study and especially for teaching Sunday School.

Ruth is survived by her five grandchildren, Mike (late Carol) Hill, Karen Carlson, Bobby Matyas, Carol (Ken) Peters, and Michelle (Scott) Bradley; nine great-grandchildren Andrea, Derek, Crystal, Jen, Bobby, Danielle, Breanna, Evan, Connor; and seven great-great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Kaden, Emily, Sophia, Tessa, Becca, and Landon. Ruth was predeceased by her husband John and her two children Janet Hill and Marilyn Matyas.

The family will receive friends Wednesday December 28, 2016 from 10am until the time of Service at 11am at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W University Dr., in downtown Rochester. Condolences may be shared with the family atwww.pixleyfuneral.com.
