Dear Karrie, Keith, and Kent,

Although I didn't see your mom much during the last few years, I have too many great memories of Ruth to recall here.  However, I would like to share a few.  First of all, I distinctly recall sitting at our daytime bridge group with both Kent and my older daughter in infant seats.  I am a very slow bridge player, but your mom played quickly and rarely made an error.  Another memory is when Ruth and I decided to take an Easter break road trip to Connecticut to visit our respective sisters. On the morning of our departure, Ruth's dog had run away and couldn't be found.  Then within hours, my daughter Clarey came down with the chicken pox.  Kent got them 2 weeks later,of course. I loved the way she traveled the world fearlessly in the past few years.  And I never held it against Ruth that she was a Spartan!  I will always think of Ruth with great fondness.

I remember your mom growing up but I really remember her when she was "in charge" at the swim club!  :)  - helping us join, when to pay our bills, etc.  I know my mom will certainly miss her friendship... Ruth belonged to our November travel group. Affectionately known as one of "Karl's Girls" we traversed the globe. She was the best roommate.
Ruth, I still wear those blue boots you loved but were not in your size. Thanks for encouraging me to buy them!

You were a wonderful role model. Always willing to try new things, like moving so Kent could raise animals. Always fair-a rule follower. You will be greatly missed.
