She was born on December 12, 1988 in Chicago, Illinois, to her father, Mark Plecha, and her late mother, Janet Plecha.
Stephanie worked as a public school teacher in Dearborn Heights and was always eager to learn and grow. At the time of her passing, she was back in college pursuing her goal of becoming a courtroom stenographer.
Stephanie was colorful, kind, and caring, with a heart that was always there for the people she loved. She was a true crime junkie who could spend hours fascinated by a good case, and she enjoyed scary movies, arts and crafts, cooking, and spending time with her family. She especially loved preparing Polish food for her dad.
Her pets were an enormous part of her life. Her dogs, Roxie and Spike, and her cats, Ellie and Ruby, meant the world to her and brought her endless love and companionship. Some of Stephanie’s happiest memories were made up north in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula with her family. Those times together were especially precious to her, and the memories she created there will remain cherished by those who loved her.
She is survived by her father, Mark Plecha; her sister, Sarah Plecha; her brother, Jeff Plecha; and many extended family members and dear friends.
Stephanie was preceded in death by her mother, Janet Plecha; her grandparents, Walter and Peggy Plecha; and her grandparents, Basil and Janet Heath.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with a service beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Drive, Rochester, MI 48307. A reception will follow the service.
