Susanne Double

Susanne graduated from Algonac High School and married Don Double on May 24, 1974.

Susanne owned The Shop The Shop, a clothing boutique in Algonac, for 36 years. During her years at The Shop The Shop, she enjoyed building relationships with her customers, many of whom she stayed in touch with for decades.

Prior to her years in the business world, Sue worked as a school secretary for years in Algonac. She was a “mother” to every new teacher who entered the school door. She considered the parents and students part of her family, always looking out for their best interest.

Sue loved her plants. She was known to have a green thumb and could make anything grow - usually larger than she and Don could move into the house for the winter months.

Susanne is survived by her husband, Don; daughter, Jeanne; and grandchildren, Chris and Alexis. She is also survived by her stepdaughters, Karen, Beth and Joyce; step-grandchildren, Monica, Michael, William and Kristi; and step-great-granddaughter Emersyn.

Susanne was preceded in death by her daughters, Sandy and Peggy; her stepson, Donald; her brother, Peter; and parents, Edwin and Jean.
