Teal was born on December 17, 1942, in Rogers City, Michigan, the son of Leonard and Helen (Loomis) Strobel. Teal attend Lincoln Park High School before entering the US. Army. Teal married Donna Schewfelt on April 1, 1969 and they raised their family in Warren, Michigan. Teal and Donna divorced in 1979. Teal was remarried to Patricia Housley on November 23, 1985, in Royal Oak, Michigan until her passing in September of 2012. Teal had a career as a machinist, retiring from Acme Manufacturing in Auburn Hills.
Teal loved to fish on Lake Huron and the rivers. For years, he enjoyed traveling around the US on his Gold Wing motorcycle. In earlier years he liked to camp with his family in Onaway.
Teal was survived by his son James (Nancy) Strobel and daughter Leah Strobel; granddaughter Samantha Strobel; and grandchildren Gabby and Frankie; and many nieces and nephews. Teal was predeceased by his parents and siblings.
