Tad was born in Bydgoszcz, Poland on April 27, 1940. He grew up in Gdansk and studied at the University of Technology at Gdansk, where he received a Master of Electronic Sciences. He came to the United States in 1967 and married his wife Nancy Neal Strbenac on July 12, 1968.
Tad worked as an electrical engineer for GM, Delphi, Advanced Automation Group, and most recently Henglong USA. He thoroughly enjoyed his work, always coming up with new ideas that resulted in over one hundred patents. More importantly he valued the lasting friendships he made with his colleagues over the years.
Tad loved his family deeply. He was a cherished member of Troy Church of Christ and had a passion for God and his creation. He had many interests and loved to learn, explore, and discover. He was a solver of problems big and small and was always there to help anyone in need. There were not many things he could not fix. His granddaughters knew if something was broken “Grampa will fix it.”
Tad is survived by his beloved wife Nancy, his children Melissa (Jon) Balun, Lauren (Ben) Mize, his granddaughters Ruby Mize and Lily Mize, his brother Gerard (Halina) Schroeder, nieces and nephews he loved, and by dear friends who became family.
Tad was exceedingly kind and generous with all who were blessed to know him. He will be deeply missed by many, but because of his faith in Christ we can look forward to seeing him again.
A celebration of Tad’s life will be held at a later date.
