Born on December 8, 1958, in Detroit, Michigan, Tim was raised in Redford and graduated from Central Michigan University with a degree in Journalism. He later earned an MBA from the University of Detroit Mercy, which served him well throughout his career.
Tim was a devoted family man who loved nothing more than spending time with those closest to him. He is survived by his wife, Jane Walsh; his daughters, Kailyn (Bill) Vitale and Alli (Ben) Siekman; and his cherished grandchildren, Dean and Walker Siekman. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Linda (Bruce) McIntosh; his brothers-in-law, Jim (Helen) Saber and Mike Battersby; his siblings, Peggy Walsh, Jim (Kaye) Walsh, and Maureen Walsh; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Margaret (née Bellmore) Walsh, and his sister, Patricia Battersby.
Tim had a special talent for turning ordinary days into something memorable. He was a gracious host who made everyone feel welcome, always sending guests home well-fed and a little warmer inside. A devoted cigar enthusiast and undisputed king of dad jokes, he could spin even the smallest moment into a story often followed by a collective groan and a smile.
He showed up for the people he loved, whether coaching his daughters’ soccer teams from the sidelines or simply being there when it mattered. In quieter times, he found joy in cooking, grocery shopping (he actually really enjoyed it), golfing, reading, and spending time with the family dogs, which he trained so well they were famously well-behaved.
He will be deeply missed and remembered with great fondness by all who knew him.
