Vicki Lynn Sharp

Vicki graduated from Hazel Park High School. Athletic from an early age, she lifeguarded, taught swimming and tennis lessons, and enjoyed shooting with her father. After high school, she served her country with pride in the United States Marine Corps, stationed in Albany, Georgia.

After four years of dedicated service, she received an honorable discharge.

Following her military service, Vicki worked in retail sales and started her own business. She later furthered her education through professional certifications and built a 27-year career as a computer programmer. In the years preceding her retirement, she spent six years as a driver for New Horizons Senior Apartments and Catholic Social Services of Oakland County, earning a reputation for her care and kindness. True to her lifelong desire to serve others, Vicki was also a Level II Reiki Practitioner. A resident of Royal Oak for nearly 30 years, she loved her community and was appreciated as a good neighbor.

As an adult, she continued her athletic spirit as a valued player on the softball team. One of Vicki’s greatest joys was visiting the Double JJ Ranch in western Michigan, where she loved horseback riding, rodeos, and the warm fellowship of the friends she made there.

Vicki spent many happy times at the farm of her aunt and uncle, Dean and Grace Poorman, in Marshall, Illinois, and remained close with her cousin David (Linda) Poorman over the years. She also kept in touch with her sisters and their families through visits to Kentucky.

Vicki often spent holidays with her cousins Sharon (Gary) Creviston and Trish (Bob) Ducharme, who live in Metro-Detroit. She will be remembered by her familiar laugh, quick wit, and thoughtful gifts for the kids.

Vicki was preceded in death by her father, Leonard Sharp; her mother, Doris Sharp; her brother, Gary Sharp; and her second mom, Catherine Sharp.

She is survived by her sisters, Mary (Steve) Combs and Linda (Garry) Eblen; her nephews, Matt and Tim Combs; her niece, Amanda (Chad) Duncan; her great-niece, Emmy; and her beloved dog and best friend, Sofie.
