Vicki was born the daughter of Clarence and Wilma (Sova) Rossman in Pontiac, Michigan on January 15, 1950. Vicki married Charles Turner on January 20, 1968 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Orion. Vicki and Charles raised their family in Auburn Hills and celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary shortly before his passing in 2023.
Vicki came from a very large family, consisting of many cousins, whom she and her siblings were very close to growing up. Knowing their mom went to Catholic schools and church, her future children would frequently hear about the time she went to school with her hair dyed green for St. Patrick’s Day.
Married at 18, Vicki and her husband started their family, and within five years, they had three daughters, followed by their only son four years later. A house full of children and many, many pets, her upbringing of discipline continued with daily chores on the calendars for each of her children to do, the table was to be set for dinner, and she was a no-nonsense Mom, meaning no alcohol, smoking, drugs in her house. The kids loved it when Vicki took them and the neighbor kids roller-skating, Boblo Island, the zoo, yard sales, and anything that was an adventure outside the home.
Her fifth and final child, Kaitlin, and first grandson, Brandon, were the reason she became a work-from-home Mom & Grandma. Vicki began helping out extended family members and friends by watching their children while the parents worked, which earned her the title of “Grandma Vicki or more commonly known as Grandma Bicki”. Over the years, she became a grandmother again to Jordan and Jayden and a great-grandmother to Olivia. The adventures continued on trips to the local parks and water parks, visiting museums, and family entertainment centers.
Vicki had different relationships with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Several of her grandchildren considered her a second Mom because they were with her so much while their own Mom or Dad worked to create their career paths.
Vicki enjoyed being at home listening to her Oldies but Goodies. She always turned it on at full volume, so the neighbors never missed the good tunes.
She never missed Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, a pastime she formerly shared with her Mother. All the moments spent with her grandchildren were the most valued times in her life.
All who knew Vicki knew that she was a no-nonsense, tell-it-like-it-is person and did not back down to anyone.
Vicki is survived by her children Nancy, Rhonda, Jennifer, Charles (Heather), and Kaitlin Turner; grandchildren Brandon, Ashley, Nathaniel, Chelsea, Valeri, Morgan, Jordan, Jayden, Xavier, and Phoenyx; great-grandchildren Jensen, Ryland, Olivia, Levi, Violet, Grayson, Stella, and Jax; siblings Kim (Beth) and Dottie Rossman; as well many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Sunday, December 1, 2024, from 4-8 p.m. and Monday, December 2, from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. at Pixley Funeral Home, located at 322 W.
