

Virginia Rose Farese a devoted wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother passed away peacefully on December 19 2025 at the age of 87. She was born in Brooklyn NY on June 2 1938. Gigi lived a quite life with deep commitment to her family where she expressed unconditional love to all members especially the children where she was guilty of being over generous to say the least.
Virginia A.K.A. Gigi was taken from us by The Lord and will be dearly missed by her husband Colonel Philip J. Farese US Army ( RET ) and Son Major Philip J. Farese Jr US Army ( RET ) and Daughter Mariesa E. Sutherland. Further, she will be missed by her 5 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren who she deeply loved and cherished.
Gigi is survived by her loving husband Phil after 67 years of marriage a real testament to an enduring partnership and devotion. They both kept their marital oaths. Together they built a family to be proud of and created an atmosphere of love honor and respect throughout.
Gigi traveled the world with her two girl friends Darlene and MaryLou while Phil would go to Pinehurst North Carolina and play golf with his Citadel classmates. After Phil retired they traveled the world together. Six continents [ Antarctica ] was the only one they missed.
Her other passion was theatre. We were members of the Meadowbrook Theatre Guild at Oakland University where she graduated in 1991, with honors. We were members of the Stratford Festival, Stratford Ontario Canada and of course many trips to
Broadway. Where we stayed at the Marriott Marquis her favorite Hotel in Manhattan.
A service will be held at the Pixley Funeral Home, located at 322 W. University Drive, Rochester on Saturday,June 13 2026 at 3 PM [1500 Hrs] with guests arriving between 1 PM and 3 PM.
