After graduating from Central Michigan University in 1951, Virginia moved to Royal Oak MI where she began her teaching career. She later went on to receive her master’s degree from Oakland University.
In 1953, Virginia married Harold Siewert at Zion Lutheran Church in Chesaning. Their marriage was blessed with three sons. Dean, a retired Lutheran School Teacher, and his wife Barbara, gave her two granddaughters, Leticia and Kimberly. Mark, a retired design engineer and currently a facility team member at St. John and his wife Dawn gave her a granddaughter Stephanie (husband Chris) and grandson Brandon. Virginia was further blessed with a great-grandson Oliver. Paul, a project engineer, was called to his Heavenly Home in May of 1989.
Harold and Virginia moved to Rochester Hills in 1965 and were owners of Rochester Greenhouse from 1965 to 1987. In May of 1995, Harold was called to his Heavenly Home.
Shortly after retiring from the Rochester Schools in 1995, Virginia served at St. John Lutheran School as the Learning Disabilities Teacher for seven years. She passed her love for teaching on to her son Dean and grandchildren Stephanie and Brandon.
Virginia loved her Lord and Savior, her family and the community. She enjoyed volunteer activities at St. John’s, OPC, and the Rochester Library. Her friendships spanned decades and her kindness and gentle spirit touched the lives of all her students and people she met in her daily life. Through her faith in Jesus Christ, we are confident that she is now at peace with our Lord, wearing the crown of eternal life.
