Virginia was born on July 19, 1943, in Flint, Michigan, to Harold and Evelyn Bila. The oldest of nine children, she grew up with a strong sense of family and responsibility that would guide her throughout her life.
Virginia pursued higher education and earned her master’s degree, later dedicating her career to education as a middle school social studies teacher. She had a passion for history, culture, and learning, which she eagerly shared with her students. Virginia also had the opportunity to serve as a speaker for National Geographic, combining her love of education with her enthusiasm for exploring the world.
Travel was one of Virginia’s greatest joys. She spent time living in The Villages in Florida and loved experiencing new places and meeting people along the way. At home and in her communities, she enjoyed shopping, playing mahjong, and taking daily walks.
Virginia’s greatest pride was her family. She is survived by her children, Lynn Louton and Todd (Rebecca) Wazny; and her beloved grandchildren, Tyler Louton, Andrew Louton, and Thomas Wazny.
She is also survived by her siblings: Judy (Dick) Tithof, Cindy (Bruce) Everett, Sam Bila, Jeff (Lisa Kennel) Bila, and Valerie (Roger) Witt; her brother-in-laws Rick McDougall and Dan Azelton and her godchildren, Ali McCall and Aaron Azelton.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Evelyn Bila; her sisters Becky McDougall, Lois Azelton and Lisa Bila.
