Wilbur “Bill” David Seltz passed away on January 12, 2021. He was born to Oscar and Elizabeth Seltz in Gladwin Michigan on September 12, 1930. He grew up on “The Farm” with 11 siblings and is survived by sister Clara Carvey (Jerry) of Rochester and brother Roger Seltz of North Carolina. He is survived by his devoted family: wife Louise, sons Tony (Cathy) of Rochester, Tom of Cleveland, Scott (Peggy) of Santa Cruz and their two children Hanna and Dustin, Rick (Janet) of Cleveland and daughter Sandy (Erik) of Salt Lake City.
At Gladwin High School he was a 4 sport star and Hall of Fame member. In 1952 he graduated from CMU where he received his bachelor's degree and married Louise Fyfe. He was a teacher and coach for 11 years at Millington High School. He was an avid bowler with his sons. He loved fishing and enjoyed golfing. He was a loving and respected Father, brother, uncle and friend to many. In 1962 he was employed by Rochester schools to teach and coach and in 1969 became athletic director until 1985. Bill enjoyed his years in Rochester and loved and influenced his students and athletes. He and Marye Miller and committee changed RARA from just “a Little League and Arts & Crafts into the large program it’s grown into today. He worked at the state as a proponent of Title IX laws. In 1989 Bill and Louise move to Traverse City where his family vacation every July together at their home on the lake. In 2014 they moved back to Rochester where their roots were. Many thanks to Bellbrook and Hospice of Michigan for all the good care and love they gave him.
Cremation has occurred and there will be a private family service next July.
