From the moment I met Angie Sinacore I felt the love and acceptance of her ever-widening heart! She exuded positivity in the most genuine way - her smile, her laugh and a true twinkle in her eyes was vivid and palpable.  At a family gathering several states removed from her home, Angie brought us to the trunk of her car.  She stated that my husband and I needed to share a toast in special family champagne flutes.  She opened her trunk, put a glass in each of our hands and popped open a cold Champagne bottle --all lovingly put inside a cooler she packed and brought hundreds of miles just for that moment.  Angie cherished her family and that was evident in her actions and yet she found time to make friends feel just as special as her husband and daughters.

Aunt Angie is so difficult to fully capture in words. She was radiantly kind and relentlessly adventurous. She found joy in everything she touched. Joy in all the events in her life. Joy in her family. Her life spanned generations and shaped us all in quiet ways. 

She looked out for people and helped them, encouraging good works and creating friendships that held fast for years. Angie would see the scholarship in her name not just as a legacy, but rather as an open door with a handwritten note taped to it: “Come on in.” 

Though she is gone, her spirit lives on - in the traditions we keep, the kindness we show, and the strength we pass down. Her passing is not a farewell… this day is a reminder for all the moments we shared, big and small, that made our world wider and richer.

Angie was my first cousin and ten years my senior.  When I was ten our trips to Bayville, Long Island marked the beginning of shared joys in the water and marveling at Angie's swimming prowess. As  a newly married couple in 1963 we visited John and Angie in Cortland, NY. As the years passed we traveled to  Palm Bay, Florida to enjoy canoe trips in alligator infested waters, lose swimming competitions to the cousin with gills, eat  wonderful (healthy) meals, and add an appreciation of the wildlife that abounded near them . Theirs was a long marriage of shared values and a healthy life style that served them well.  Memories of Angie surface at the oddest of times: working in the garden thinning out irises, eating oysters, intricate italian cookies, her long letters over the years, and family trees that 
documented our lineage. Her legacy is rich for the many her knew and loved her but the impact on our world is a forever gift from Angie.  She finished the race well!

I am so sorry to learn of Angie’s passing. I loved singing with her in ENCORE Chorus. Her entire body exuded whatever song we sang, and her smile was a warm hello when she and Debbie came into our rehearsal space. I will miss that smile, her laughter, her joy and the brief friendship we shared. My condolences to her family. It was obvious how cherished Angie was and how much she cherished her family. We are all blessed to have had her in our lives.

Angie and John became our boating buddies in 1978. We enjoyed many trips toghther over the years, and enjoyed reminiscing about those trips after retirement.  We will miss you. Rest in peace.

Angie was one of the finest people you could ever meet. She always had a smile to share with everyone. Angie and John were a force of pure goodness and kindness. They both worked diligently to promote the profession of health education and alcohol abuse prevention in schools and communities throughout New York State. They were leaders of a movement that has spanned decades, and still is growing.  In their spare time Angie and John worked diligently to rescue stranded boaters on Lake Ontario.  Knowing them has made all our lives better. Our loss is Heaven's gain.  It was a gift to know them.
