Clair W. Fyke Sr.

Clair W. Fyke, Sr., “Sonny”, of North Chili, formerly of Lakeland, FL: went to be with the Lord on September 14, 2017 at the age of 93, with his loving family by his side.

Predeceased by his brother, Melvin Fyke, and son-in-law, Maha Atma Singh (Charles) Oesterly. Survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Florence D. Fyke; children: Clarisse Petrucci, Maha Atma Kaur (Carolyn) Oesterly, and Clair W. “Kip” (Teresa) Fyke; sister, Virginia Wolfgang; 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.

Clair was a proud WWII Navy veteran who served on the USS Iowa. He was very active and enjoyed, golfing, bowling and swimming up to the very end. He also greatly enjoyed volunteering at Lakeland Regional Hospital for over 30 years. But above all else he was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

A Memorial Service celebrating Clair’s life will be held on Saturday, October 14th at 2PM in the Parmerter Chapel, at Pearce Memorial Free Methodist Church, 4322 Buffalo Rd, North Chili, NY 14514, with a reception to follow.

I have no words for the loss of my Father. I will always have him in my heart. He was a wonderful Dad. SO lucky we had him for so many years. I love you Daddy You are in heaven now where you always said you wanted to be with the Lord.

I always remember when your folks came to visit you (Maha Atma Kaur) on Cove Circle, your dad was always so cheerful and sweet. I'm glad we got to know him. Your family was blessed to have him strong and healthy for so many years. Our sympathy goes out to all of you.
