

David is survived by his loving wife of over 9 years, Anne Haran Nowak; his children, Allan (Lyndsey) Nowak, Matthew (Kimberly) Butler, Kimberly (Matthew) Burgess, Sarah (Charles) Vogt, and Jessica Baszuk; grandchildren, Ashlee (Justin) Dueppengeisser, Kyra (Luke Toal) Burgess, Jonathan (Kate Gray) Nowak, Chase (Nate) Cooley, Mazelynn Redman, Gabriella (Josh Hartford) Redman, and Zachary Butler; great-grandchildren, Sophia Dueppengeisser and Lainey Toal; sister, Shirley Cook; and mother-in-law, Ann Haran; as well as several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother.
David was born on October 17, 1947, in Rochester, NY. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran who served in Vietnam, during the Vietnam War. Upon returning home from his time in the service, he began a career working for General Motors, retiring after 32 years. After his retirement, Dave began driving school bus for Boces #1 in Fairport, which he would go on to enjoy for 13 years.
David spent numerous years volunteering for Macedon Fire and Ambulance. He was also a lifetime member of VFW Post #8495. In his free time, Dave was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00AM on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at St. Pius X Church, 3010 Chili Ave. Rochester, NY 14624. Interment to follow at Holy Ghost Cemetery with military honors.
