March 23, 1928 – April 14, 2018
Donald Jacob Sunderville was born on March 23, 1928 and raised in Lyons, NY. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1945 stationed in San Diego. He contracted diphtheria and spent months in the hospital. He recovered and came back to Rochester where he met his wife, Loretta. They were married on July 9, 1949.
Don worked for Eastman Kodak for 33 years, then was a school bus driver for Pittsford Schools for 13 years. He and Lorie loved boating at Seneca Lake for many years. They moved to Inverness, Florida in 2000 where they lived until their return to family in 2012. Don loved his ‘bit of paradise’ in the sunshine state. He loved being back with his family enjoying get togethers that always involved a good game of euchre.
Don passed peacefully on April 14,2018 at the age of 90. Dear Lori and Family,
We're so very sorry for your loss of Don. We lost track of your whereabouts and had no way of contacting you. We still hold the great memories close to our hearts of the boating days at Seneca Lake. We had so much fun back then, it was a shame it all came to an end. We hope the memories that you created help to heal your broken hearts. May Don rest in peace and God bless his soul.
