He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Melissa Saffran, his mother, Ellen Saffran, his stepson, Daniel Finley, and many, many dear friends, especially Glen Cady, Jonathan Linder, and Ron Hart.
He was predeceased by his father, Frank Saffran.
Born on January 28, 1968, in Rochester, NY, Eric grew up in the 19th Ward with his mother. He enjoyed spending his summers in Penn Yan, NY, with his grandparents, riding dirt bikes and snowmobiles on their property, which later lead to a love of cars.
Eric had a deep lifelong passion for classic cars, owning several throughout his life. He enjoyed collecting slot cars and model cars, and spent much of his time ensuring his beloved cats stayed away from his treasured toys. His love for animals, especially his cats, was profound.
Eric was a fixture at area car shows and cruise nights, and his presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was cherished during his time with us, leaving a lasting legacy of fond memories.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Alvah Halloran & Son Funeral Home, 2125 Chili Ave, Rochester, NY 14624. As per Eric's wishes, everyone is encouraged to dress casually and to bring their classic cars! Let's make the day into a car show in Eric's memory. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, and in honor of Eric's love for animals, please consider donations in Eric's memory to Lollypop Farm or to Keller's Kats Rescue.
