Lillian lived a fulfilling life as mother, wife, sister, and friend. She was born on April 4, 1926 in Rochester, NY, the youngest daughter of Frank and Mary Casper. Lillian cherished her family; she is survived by her six children, Maureen (William) Caufield, Cathy (John) Adams, Patricia (Robert) Dettman, Edwin (Barbara) Kase, Jean (Peter Robinson) Kase, Thomas (Sandy) Kase; thirteen grandchildren, Jeremy Adams, Kyle (Diane) Adams, Emily Adams, Jody (Sara) Aiello, Robert (Jamie) Dettman, Christopher (Kristen) Dettman, Josef Kase, Heather Robinson, Matthew Robinson, Jeremy (Emily) Robinson, Michael Robinson, Nicole Kase, David Robinson; great grandchildren, Arwen Dettman and Logan Wells; her brother, Eugene Casper, M.M. (retired) of Maryknoll, NY and sister-in-law, Jane Casper; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; her loving husband, Charles Kase; her four sisters, Eleanor Reisinger, Marie Wahl, Roselyn Remming, Lucille DeClerck; and eight brothers, Frank, Alphonse, Oswald, Ralph, James, Paul, Robert, and Richard Casper.
Lillian’s most important and beloved job was being a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Lillian found fulfillment in her younger years volunteering as a candy striper at St. Mary’s Hospital. After high school, she worked in the administrative office of Bourjois’ manufacturing plant on Capron Street and shared many entertaining stories of her friendships and adventures as a young (rather naïve) woman in the workforce during that era. Lillian accepted Chuck’s proposal the second time; she rebuffed him the first time, sending him off in a huff after telling him he needed to grow up. Chuck was three years younger and became sweet on Lillian through his friendship with her younger brothers Richard and Gene.
A celebration of Lillian’s life is planned for April 2, 2022 at St. Monica’s Church, 831 Genesee St., Rochester, NY, where the family will receive friends from 9:30am until 10:30am, when a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30am.
