

Floyd was born July 28, 1940, in Batavia, NY. He met the love of his life, Donna M. Klehn, at a high school dance. They were later married on August 27,1960, and enjoyed a wonderful life together, raising two children.
Floyd worked most of his adult life for Hartman Metal Manufacturing in Waterloo and Victor, NY. He began working in the paint shop and retired as Plant Superintendent.
Floyd had a great love for cars. In the middle 1960's to early 1970's he was a drag racer, winning numerous races over the years. He continued working on cars and engines as a hobby throughout his life. He also enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting as well as visiting family in the Blue Ridge mountains in Tennessee.
In the early 1970s, Floyd came to know the LORD as his personal Savior. He became very active in Waterloo Baptist church where he served as a deacon. Later he served as a deacon at Calvary Baptist church in Batavia, NY and most recently served in the jail ministry with Heritage Baptist church in Palmyra, NY.
After retiring, Floyd and Donna were snowbirds sharing their time between Junius Ponds Campground in Phelps, NY and J-mar Resort in Port Richey, FL. During this time Floyd and Donna made many lifelong friends. Unfortunately, Donna eventually developed Alzheimer’s Dementia and Floyd became her loving caregiver until she passed away October 17, 2017.
Floyd is survived by his two children, Jane (Richard) Meyer, and David (Suzy) Heaton, as well as his "adopted" son, James (Nancy) Phillips. He has 14 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Marie Foreman, Beverly (Pet) Hampton, and a brother, Gary Heaton; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Floyd was predeceased by his loving wife, Donna, his parents, Jonas and Betty Heaton, an infant sister, Sandra Heaton, his brother, Jonas (Tom) Heaton and brother-in-law, Carl Foreman.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, May 16th, at the Heritage Baptist Church, 2367 State Rt. 21, Palmyra, NY.
