Gary J. Welch

Gary J. Welch, of Canandaigua, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family, on November 6, 2021, at the age of 73. Gary was born on March 22, 1948 in Canandaigua, NY to John and Lorraine Welch. He is survived by his loving wife, Mardella Welch, daughter, Madena (Todd) Cunningham, son, Brian (Jennifer) Welch and grandchildren Talen, Landen, Jake, Zach, and Ava. Gary is also survived by his sister Sheila (Kevin) Buckley, brothers Michael and Tim and nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his twin brother Terrance and his parents. Gary worked for Rochester Gas and Electric for over 30 years and Power Construction Group for 15 years. His two loves were spending time with family and his work. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00AM on Sat. November 20th, at St. Mary’s Church, 95 N. Main St. Canandaigua, NY 14424. A celebration of Gary’s life will be held immediately following mass at the Elk’s Lodge, 19 Niagara St, Canandaigua, NY 14424.
